Hartford Old School Nursery was founded in 2006 by Steve and Rachel Urry and was the culmination of their dream to one day open their own Nursery. Steve had been an OFSTED inspector for over 27 years and it was his unique understanding of this sector and what makes an outstanding Nursery, that enabled him to see the potential in this wonderful old building and that it would make a perfect setting for a Nursery.
Before the doors were opened, the building was professionally redesigned and refurbished to the highest standard. It now combines the very best of old and new in this delightful school house conversion, providing a homely yet stimulating environment for young children aged 0 to five years.
The nursery building dates back to 1840 and was rebuilt following the war. It used to be a boys’ school and we have had lots of interest from grandparents who want their grandchildren to go there because of the history. Some of the original features have been kept, like the fireplaces, as it is one of the most historic buildings in the village and we are committed to keeping it that way.
In February 2010 the Nursery was taken over by Andrew Howarth and Nichola Moss and it is their intention to build on the excellent reputation the Nursery already has and make it the number one choice for quality childcare in and around Northwich. We are committed to investing in our setting and staff to achieve these goals and welcome a close working relationship with parents and Guardians to make sure we are offering the best quality childcare available.
Andrew and Nichola have successfully run a large 81 place Nursery in Manchester City Centre since 2006 and they both fell in love with the Old School nursery on their first viewing and hope you do too.
